The 2019 United States Open Championship will be the 119th U.S. Open. The Open will be played June 13–16 and it coincides with the 100 year anniversary of Pebble Beach Golf Links and the 26th year of the Shivas Irons Society. Society supporters will be volunteers as hole marshals. This event is now closed to new participants.
We’re very excited that the 2019 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach is almost upon us! The corporate tents are up, the fairways have been narrowed, the roughs grown and the greens quickened. The course is ready!
The Society has planned some activities to enhance the experience of our member volunteers. Here’s what we’re planning...
JUNE 11 2019 (Tuesday) Potluck & BYOB Beach Party!
Join our informal and fun Carmel Beach gathering! Bring a towel/blanket if you can (or locals will happily share), bring a snack and/or beverage. Putters, wedges and golf balls will be made available for sand play. For the brave and hardy (or wacky?), a quick dip in the big pool will be an option (led by Richard Warren, who, after a glass of wine or two, may be enticed to recite a golf poem --- a bathroom for changing is near our ‘encampment'). Bring your smile, your willingness to ‘play’ and connect, some food or drink (we’ll provide utensils/glasses/napkins).

JUNE 15 2019 (Saturday) Our SIS U.S. Open Party!
Not to be missed! Dave Buckingham and Konny Murray hosted an SIS gathering during the 2010 U.S. Open and are generously doing so again! Join us for an informal late-afternoon-to-evening party at their home where food and drinks will be provided. Spouses and guests are welcome. RSVP required.
