Searching for Shivas at the Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort
We'll start off with a short talk about the mysteries of the game with a special guest before our start time with tasty box lunches in tow.
Let's get as many Shivas Irons Society members and friends together as we can to carry forward the spirit of the game.
After golf we'll share and rejoice with a wonderful dinner where we'll sing the praises of the game and raise our glasses together.
For those coming from out of town, stay at the Shawnee Inn (rooms are $152 plus tax) on Thursday, August 1st, join us for dinner and maybe play a hole or two of night golf!
Your hosts for this wonderful event include Ben Kline, David Korba and Dave Buckingham!
The Course:
The Shawnee Island Course was built in 1910 by A.W. Tillinghast, his first-ever design. 24 of 27 holes are located on an island in the middle of the Delaware River. A long line of greats have played here, including Walter Hagen, Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer, Lawson Little, Long Jim Barnes, and Johnny Farrell. In 1938, Shawnee hosted the PGA Championship where Sam Snead lost to Paul Runyan 8 and 7.
Before Golf: We will gather together and engage in a course walk and conversation that is sure to delight. We will then set our intentions for the afternoon's inspiring and maybe even magical golf.
